After disclosing te Huawei P30, Huawei had some clamorous six months, but now they are launching their new classy flagship smartphone, the Huawei P40. The family of the Huawei P40 consists of a variety of devices such as the Huawei P40, its pro version, and the pro plus. Early after the release of the Samsung Galaxy S20 series Huawei Company is going to launch another flagship, the Huawei P40 and Huawei P40 Pro.
Here is the information we have gathered so far regarding these handsets. Let’s have a look at them.
“It will be interesting to see if consumers are willing to switch from the Google Play Store to the Huawei Appgallery”
Design and Display:
The design of the Huawei phone is not too different from its predecessor’s handsets. The main difference of the Huawei P40 is that its camera array is a little bigger and all it’s lenses accommodate in one larger bump. Alright, another noticeable change in the pro version of these handsets is it retains a curved bottom and top, and its edges are also curved. This feature makes it’s very slippery. More overly, it has a glass rear while its pro plus version has an ceramic rear. This make it more resistant against scratches and due to it, it looks more elegant in your hand.
The screen size of Huawei P40 is 6.1 inches and has a resolution of 2340 x 1080. Whether the Huawei P40 Pro and Huawei P40 Pro Plus have screen sizes of 6.58 inches with a resolution of 2640 x 1200. Another interesting improvement that comes in these sets is its fingerprint sensor is seemingly 30% larger, more secure to use and it’s faster too.
The camera of Huawei P40 has a 16MP extreme wide-angle lens with a f/2.2 shooter. It has an 8MP telephoto and 50MP Ultra Vision Wide RYYB f/1.9 lens. The Pro version of the Huawei P40 has a more robust camera. It has 12MP zoom telephoto ability and a 50MP main camera. Huawei P40 Pro camera has another amazing sensor which is known as Time of flight sensor. The Pro Plus device of Huawei P40 has a similar 50Mp main camera. But has 8MP telephoto f/2.4.
All of these handsets have the front camera of 32MP and all have Time of flight sensors too on its front side.
Huawei P40 has the 3,800mAh battery and Huawei P40 Pro and Huawei P40 Pro Plus has the 4,200mAh battery.
All of these three handsets have the 8GB RAM. And if we talk about storage then Huawei P40 has the 128GB storage while Huawei P40 Pro has 256GB storage and Huawei P40 Pro Plus has the 512GB storage.
These Huawei handsets have the EMUI 10.1 which is based on Android 10.
Huawei has launched it’s own appstore, called…APPGallery. It will be interesting to see if Huawei can switch Android users (or Apple users) from the Google Play Store to the AppGallery. It contains a lot of apps, but the big names like Facebook, Instagram & Whatsapp are not available (yet). Not surprisingly these are all owned by one company, so maybe there are a few discussions going on in the background.
The release date of Huawei P40 and P40 Pro in Europe is April. While the Huawei P40 Pro Plus is not going to be launched until June 2020.
